I was reading the Infragard Members Alliance site this morning. There is a nice quick read from Bryant Tow in which he discusses a move to create a new special interest group for SCADA security.
As a result of recent discussions between the INMA and the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) National Cyber Security Division (NCSD), we are working to establish a SCADAGard Special Interest Group (SIG) within the InfraGard program.
I’ve written about the lack of security awareness in the SCADA community that I witnessed last year. That experience coupled with the writings of Jim C at DCS Security have certainly elevated my already heightened fear regarding security practices around SCADA devices. Hopefully this new SIG will be productive and not just another bureaucratic checkbox.
