I've recently come back from Blackhat / Defcon so you'll be seeing a flurry of blogs from me shortly. First, however, I wanted to quickly introduce myself.
On a personal note, I grew up in a tiny town in Nova Scotia. I packed up, moved to Toronto and went to college shortly after turning 18. I wound up getting my first corporate IT job a year later and stayed with that company for nearly 5 years. My experience there ranged from support to technology implementation to security audits(wireless, internet exposure and patch management). I left this company for an amazing new opportunity in technical and personal growth - nCircle.
My interest in security became apparent at around the age of 14. I started reading anything and everything I could. I remember discovering Phrack when I was 15. I found a zip file on a BBS that contained the 'to-date' archive and started reading two or three issues a night basking in the light of knowledge. I was in heaven. There were others like me.
I've always enjoyed puzzles, anything that makes me think. The reward for solving a puzzle is drug-like and addictive.
